Moving Forward with the Notre Dame Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership
Good news! Notre Dame’s Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership has agreed to fund the initial phase of piloting for this project, helping to support a group of research assistants for the 2015-16 year to work on this project. This is an important step and should support forward momentum in getting new data gathered and coded. Forward progress!

Open Source Initiatives and Social Science Research
Open source initiatives that provide scholars and the general public with rigorously collected data on difficult-to-measure constructs are beginning to transform the social sciences. Some great examples include:
- Examples:
- Brian Bushee (Wharton) is opening up entire new realms of investing research with his publication of open access institutional investor data
- Lee Fleming and colleagues (Harvard) have helped make new forms of research on knowledge spillover, mobility, and geography possible with US patent data by partnering with Harvard information scientists to create and share unique individual inventor identifiers for all US patent data
- Tim Pollock (Penn State) partnered with Oxford University to create and publicly release a reputation index for venture capitalists that has become widely used
